He completed his MBBS from Grant Medical College & Sir JJ Hospital, Mumbai, in 1984, followed by an MD in General Medicine from the same institution in 1988, and later earned his DNB in Gastroenterology from KEM Hospital & Seth G.S. Medical College, Mumbai, in 1993.
